Case Study: A Diminishing Employer Brand Saved By Improved Recruitment Processes
A negative employer brand, stemming from poor candidate experience, can place significant harm on an organisation’s future hiring prospects. Transforming a reputation can take time but a dedicated specialist recruitment agency can help to turn the tide.
The client’s challenge
A B2B organisation in telecommunications was experiencing acute hiring challenges, especially in attracting and sourcing good quality candidates due to a negative reputation surrounding candidate experience.
Previously, the organisation’s hiring processes were inefficient due to delayed interview procedures and hiring decisions. Additionally, their contact with candidates was severely lacking, with their time-to-hire averaging at 68 days.
Unsurprisingly, this consistently poor experience had become common knowledge amongst the local candidate pool, with industry peers sharing their understandable frustrations amongst each other. This had significantly harmed the organisation’s ability to attract great professionals within the sector, especially local talent.
The organisation approached VIQU Energy’s team to help support them in improving their employer brand through their recruitment processes and aid their ability to hire great professionals currently and in the future.
Actions taken by VIQU Energy...
After initial conversations with the organisation, VIQU Energy audited all aspects of the candidate journey. This included the average time it took a candidate to pass through the whole hiring process (from initial introductions to first day of employment), in addition to the level of candidate communication at all stages of the process. VIQU Energy quickly identified areas that needed improvement and communicated them with the key stakeholders in the organisation.
Following that, VIQU Energy’s Client Relationship Manager had weekly calls with the organisation and sat in on meetings with their HR team to identify and address any further issues. This included things like changes to their EVP offering, planning the candidate journey, and working out key deliverables for the recruitment process to hit. VIQU Energy’s Client Relationship Manager continued to have weekly calls with their hiring team to ensure that deadlines were being met, candidates were receiving the feedback on time and any challenges were met head-on.
-
VIQU Energy’s recommendations resulted in the average time-to-hire being reduced by 45% from 68 to 37 days.
